Today Germany is an accepted partner in the world, a nation committed to respecting and safeguarding international law and human rights.

In 1999, ten years after the fall of the Wall, the Federal Republic of Germany will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its founding. The high point of the festivities will be an official ceremony in the old and new capita Berlin, which also will be attended by foreign heads of state and of government.
