The Russian space station Mir, for instance, is to be transformed into a “flying classroom” during the World Exposition. During live transmissions, a teacher on board will explain the space station to the EXPO audience and take them along on a journey around the earth. In the course of these orbital flights, which will last ninety minutes, the audience will be able to observe weather fronts and cloud formations and, weather permitting, pick out mountain ranges, cities and rivers from an altitude of 380 kilometers.
